HIDE AND SEEK
BEHIND THE SCENES
Fascinating chords, haunting vocals and an atmosphere to dive in effortlessly – that is how I would describe the original song „Hide And Seek“, written and produced by Slumberjack and Claire Ridgely. Therefore it was very interesting to work on this project and infuse it with a new atmosphere and groove for my remix. As always with remixes, I tried to reproduce the song in the way it would sound like, if it had been a collaboration between the original artists and myself. The vocals tell a story of inner turmoil, a conflict between the closeness of love and rising loneliness. I wanted to portray this rift in my version of the song, as the verses and drops have a very different intensity of emotion, and the choruses represent the process of change.
LYRICS
INTRO:
How can I be so lonely, even when we’re alone?
Caught me when I was falling, no one can fix my heart,
I dare you just to try.
VERSES:
Sitting on the side of your bed like, wide awake and asking how,
love gets faded like a broken promise, one side gotta ask for more.
Pick myself up, pick my clothes up, won’t think twice, lock the door.
Walk a mile by myself for while, no remorse,
when I tell‚ em, tell‚ em, tell‚ em.
CHORUS:
You’re not the one that I look for, when I close my eyes.
I’m playing hide and seek love, with no one else to find.
DROPS:
With no else to find.
Where can I find the truth, when you’re lost in a body of lies?
